I come before you today to tell you that I plan on breaking one of my resolutions. In fact, I plan on breaking this resolution 13 times over the next 3 months. Why? Because I have some winter weight to lose and a couple of my sister's have some baby weight to lose and so we are doing our own in-family Biggest Loser competition. This means that I will have to weigh in publicly (in front of my family--eek!) 13 times which pretty much obliterates my goal of not weighing myself this year. I however will only be weighing myself 13 times and not in between weigh ins to determine if or what I am losing so I kind of feel that I am still adhering to the spirit of the resolution (a little bit).
And now for a bit of unrelated business. That crazy woman you might have seen wandering through 2 Walmarts at 11 pm last night wearing hot-pink pleather slippers, baggy ill-fitting jeans, a baggy sweatshirt, no make-up, and crazy hair looking for 6 feet of yarn to finish up her baby blanket project might indeed have been me. In my defense I forgot I was wearing the slippers until I was half way to Walmart and decided I wouldn't go home and change since, after all, it is Walmart we are talking about. Neither store had the yarn--curse you Walmart!

I'm rooting for baby-sister to win the competition. Sorry. There is nothing worse than the way you feel physically after a baby; she needs some self-love.
Still, the family that loses together . . . I don't know. I'm sure there is a clever way to finish the sentence but I'm fresh out of clever.
Once in college I went to Albertsons at 5:30 in the morning in my sweats to buy Tampons, chocolate, ibuprofen and a Dr. Pepper. The cheeky check-out guy looked at me and said with a grin, "Will that be all?" It is the closest I have ever come committing assault. I still think that 20 oz Dr. Pepper bottle would have looked hilarious jammed into his mouth.
I almost went to Walmart last night, my roommate did, so I wonder if she saw you!!!
I must say that I am rooting for you! I only know your sisters a little bit, and mostly by your association, so GO YOU!
When I was faithfully going to WW I would weigh myself almost every single day, and especially the night before, and the morning of weigh-in-day and depending on the number shown, would decide whether or not I wanted to go that day!
Much can be said for both ways of doing it, but I have to say, having some little idea was better than being surprised!!!
I say your second oldest sister should win!!!!!! Besides she has just as much weight to lose as the ones who just had a baby. The baby of the family is the exercise nut, so she is going to have no problem!-so no sympathy for her! Maybe I will be able to finally shed some weight. When it comes down to it, I'm pretty competitive I will admit!
How funny the verification word is - squat, how appropriate!
Are we starting already? I need to hurry and eat the rest of my Girl Scout cookies so they won't be a distraction!
Biggest loser in-family. GO all of you! Great fun and motivational, too. Keep us updated! And as for the late-night Wal-mart run in your slippers, I've done that consciously many times. I don't give a rat's rear-end what people think when I mosey on in wearing slippers (and even PJ pants!) I think STM should have followed through with the DP and smug cashier boy. Funny.
Good luck! I wish I could join in. I will be doing my own biggest loser (by myself) soon...hope I win! Hahaha. I have a goal to lose 20 lbs by October. Maybe more if I don't do so well with this pregnancy.
I had to laugh that you went to Wal-Mart looking so white trash. I have done it too, but I do remember talking to you years ago about how we would never do that!
STM--You should have done it!
Foodie--Thanks for the support.
Stacy--It's On!
Jillian--This Sunday. I'll call you.
Jenny--Trust me, I'll keep everyone updated.
Denise--We are thinking of doing a second one with you once you've had your baby and start working out again.
My friend Jessica and her family did a biggest loser and they had so much fun, and they all lost a bunch of weight. Good luck all!
