SO MANY BOOKS, SO LITTLE TIME

There are books that I have loved and that I would love to read again, but...there are so many books out there that I do want to read and that list is just getting longer and longer. That has been my thinking for a long time, but this fun little essay from the New York Times has me rethinking that silly little excuse. I'm now trying to decided which to read again first: The Harry Potter series or the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

p.s.

My copy of LOTR has him on the cover:

I love fantasy books and LOTR was really hard for me. I saw the first movie before I read the books and I wasn't actually able to plow through the first. SOOOO slow. I sometimes think Tolkien set out to write a history book or a WWII allegory instead of an adventure story. LOVE the movies however. The adaptation is faithful to the books by choosing the very best parts and expanding them while skipping over the dry parts. And, you are totally right. Viggo Mortensen's Aragorn is all that and a bag of chips.

I do love Harry Potter. . . .

So many wonderful books. I'm contemplating re-reading my favorite Christmas book for the seventh time or something.

I just re-read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I enjoyed it even more this time.
