A BRITISH COUNTDOWN: 2 DAYS

It has been on my calendar for a month now. People are stopping me at church to share in my enthusiasm. And I've just found out there are recipes. RECIPES! No, I haven't confused my dates. I am fully aware that Wills and Kate are not getting married in two days. What I am talking about here is Doctor Who. He's back and I can hardly wait.

Those fantastic scenes were shot in my very own state of Utah. And I didn't even head out to the shoot to do some stalking. It is called restraint, my friends, an immense amount of restraint.

Umm No, I Didn't Fall Off the Face of the Earth

I'd just like to interrupt this long silence to say that I am planning on blogging--just not today. Until I do blog (I have to get my resolutions out there), I'd like to attempt to entertain you with a few funny clips (because while I have been rushed off my feet at work and scared out of my pants at the thought of my new calling--1st Counselor in the Primary Presidency), I have had time to find a few things mildly entertaining:

The Mid-September's Eve Miracle

Drugs are a wonderful thing, aren’t they? They took a really horrible night that began with me sitting opened mouth in front of the TV (opened mouth sitting was a further attempt at continued breathing) that had nothing, I repeat nothing, new or interesting on for the entire night and finished it up with me blissfully falling asleep in my very own bed. That most wonderful sleep that ensued was then followed up by me rising from my bed, this morning around 9:30, completely healed. It was the Mid-September's Eve Miracle! Seriously, I've never recovered from anything this fast before. Sadly, as I came out of my drug and cold induced fog I came to the startling realisation that today is, in fact, Friday and not Saturday as I had previously assumed. Oh well, too late to do anything productive now, right? I'm thinking me, my bed, and a book--shhh, don't tell anyone that I'm better.

p.s. on the off chance that any of my Young Women have or ever do stumble across this post, I'm talking about the legal, over-the-counter drugs used only according to the directions on the label for the purposes specified on that same label--I'm watching you (my foolish little friends who friended me on Facebook)!

Free Gift Tags

Just look at how lovely these cards are:

And they can be downloaded for free over at Whisker Graphics. I particularly like the umbrella (you know, should anyone want to give me a present with a gift tag attached).

In Need of a Little BBC

Well, so much for thinking I was on a new track for being a good blogger with lots of posts each week. I was on a bit of a run last week thanks in part to the World Cup (did you notice how I got every pick right for the matches over the weekend? I beat out every single ESPN analyst! That just proves what taking a purely scientific approach to soccer can do for your gambling habits--not that I did gamble, of course) and thought I would continue on with that--sort of. You see, I've been spending so much time with my World Cup that I have begun to notice that other things are falling by the wayside (or nearly so). My reading is down dramatically, my non-sports-watching TV is down to nothing (not really such a bad thing, though), and my laundry is sadly piled up on my bedroom floor. And that is not all! My watching of BBC-produced shows has fallen off completely--as was pointed out in an email from a dear friend who enclosed the following to remind me of all the things I am missing:

I particularly liked that bit about Americans liking the British accent--which is totally true and is actually where I place the blame for my BBC neglect. You see, the World Cup has this British analyst who has this British accent that I quite fancy:

I haven't the slightest idea at what point I decided a Liverpudlian accent is cute (or even understandable), but I am completely sold and it has caused me to completely lose track of my BBC priorities. Something that I intend to remedy with a little Dr. Who (the new one with the new doctor who I think is just brilliant):

Afternoon Naps

The best part of being sick is taking a nap in the afternoon.

Too bad I'm well again.

Back to real posting tomorrow.

I'm on Twitter

I know what you are thinking: She doesn't even do Facebook right (only get on once a week) how can she go and sign up for Twitter?

You are right, except that Twitter has Tracy Morgan, the British Monarch, and Anderson Cooper and I've just always (since sometime last year) wanted to follow them on Twitter.

What can I promise you if you should decide to follow me on Twitter? Not much. I promise 1 Tweet a day--I think I can do that. Maybe someday in the future I will really pick it up (don't start holding your breath now though), but for now I just want to know what Stephen Colbert is saying.

Anyway, should you want to follow me (and I can't say that I know why you would) you can find me, and my one tweet,
here:

Pretty Flowers

I just picked this lovely up at Forever 21 (just 80 cents!) Paired with my sweet pea body wash, it made my shower so much nicer this morning.

If only I didn't have to shave my legs.

I hate shaving my legs.

(but don't worry I still do it)

Stealing

Still not going to post one of those posts I was thinking of. Instead I thought I would post a couple of videos that I've spotted on a couple of blogs that I love (just in case you haven't seen them yet and because I love them so very much). The first comes to us courtesy of MBC and is Hilarious--yep hilarious with a capital H.

And this one, from Janssen, just makes me very Happy--another capital H there.

Happy Monday!

I actually have a friend who loves Monday. I don't understand that at all, but I am trying to. I read a book once that described Monday as the springboard to the week and instructed climbing up on the board, looking out a what lay ahead, making plans for what you are going to do (for the day and the week), and then diving right in. The book went on to imply that attempting to ignore or skip Monday would, in fact, just ruin the rest of the week for you. So today I am climbing up my board, looking out into the vast expanse of my week, making plans, and diving right in.

Here are a few things I am looking forward to:

Finishing this book:

Attending my Book Group where we will have a fabulous discussion on The Chosen by Chaim Potok.

Birthday cake with one of the nieces--if you are counting that will make 3 pieces of cake in one week, but please don't count.

General Conference weekend with candy corn.

The Great Office War

This fab video comes courtesy of the same folks who did One Semester of Spanish Love Song (Run Away Box) (see below) and was also too good not to post.

I'm going to have to stop now because all the fun is starting to make it feel like Friday.

One Semester of Spanish Love Song

Science Teacher Mommy referred me to this video on YouTube and it was so very funny that I had to put it up for all to enjoy:

Do Re Mi

If you've been reading my blog for awhile you know how much I love those videos that show hundreds of people freezing in Central Station New York or performing a musical in a mall food court. Most of these seem to have been done by a group called ImprovEverywhere, but I've got a new one for you only this one seems to have been done by a different group in Europe.

Fun, New Blogging Option

So sometimes I read a blog post and I think to myself 'that is so cool, or cute, or interesting, etc. but I'm not really feeling like leaving a comment' (not, mind you, because I don't think you are not worth my time to leave a comment but rather that I don't feel like my comment is good enough to leave on your excellent blogs). Blogger, though, as solved this problem for me in creating the Reactions option where you merely check the reaction you have toward the post without having to come up with the words necessary of a comment. I hope you'll take advantage of the option here (especially those who stalk my blog but never comment) and maybe consider making it available on your blogs so I can tell you how cool I think your posts are.

Food Network Junkie

I admit it, I'm a food network junkie. I love Giada, lover Tyler, have a secret crush on Bobby, and could watch Duff just about anytime of day or night. Well now they've gone and figured one more way to take advantage of my addiction. They have come out with a Food Network magazine. My sis has already subscribed and we are both drooling over the first issue. Apart from the 128 fabulous looking recipes, I love their tables of contents--that's right tables. The first table is your typical table with article names and page numbers. The second table of contents is broken up alphabetically by food network star. So lets say you know that you love Giada's creations. All you have to do to find all of her contributions to this issue is find her name (or her thumbnail pic if you don't know the name of your favorite star). Brilliant. And this is not all. The third table of contents lists all the recipes by categories. So lets say now you need a pasta dish. All you have to do is go to the pasta section and they have listed all the page numbers for pasta recipes in this issue--they've even put in a thumbnail pic of each recipe. I'm smitten.

Go here to subscribe. (10 issues for $15)

A Rainy Day Production

I can't believe we have two rainy days in one week! Here is what I'll be listening to while I'm wrapped up in a warm blanket, reading a good book, and sipping hot chocolate.

And this song which I couldn't locate at playlist.com:

And possibly this song (not because of the rain but because it makes me smile--yes I'm a sap for this kind of stuff):

Yellow

Yellow is such a happy, pretty color and a great color to discuss on a rainy day like today. Lately I have been in love with the idea of wearing this color (don't know if I should or not) and now have 2 yellow sweaters in my sweater collection. Here is a little something that I would love to add to my coat collection:

It is available here.

Speaking of yellow, have you seen the new
TLC adds for Jon and Kate plus 8? I love Kate's coat. I'm also loving the music which is "Beautiful Life" by Fisher:
