A Few of My Favorite Things

I just had a bowl of fruit which contained pink lady apples, plums, and kiwis. When I eat I tend to save for last the food items on my plate that I expect to be the best. Well, I noticed that I had unintentionally saved all my kiwis for last and therefore I am now prepared to declare kiwis as my favorite fruit.

Here are some more favorites:

Green is my favorite colour.

Colour is my favorite spelling of color.

Pasta is my favorite food to prepare.

I don't really have a favorite food to eat but lately I would just about kill for some really good Indian food.

London is my favorite place--especially the parks in London (Green Park being my favorite followed by St. James Park) and the museums.

British chocolate is my favorite (I really can't even eat plain American chocolate anymore).

Rosie Dunne is my favorite book that I am currently reading (it is also the only book I am currently reading but it is turning into a really fun summer read--and a very quick read).

Pie is my favorite dessert (I like it plain: i.e. no ice cream on top or even worse no custard--the British were always trying to dump loads of tasteless vanilla custard on my pie completely ruining the pie crust which as everyone clearly knows is the best part of any pie).

My favorite vegetable is the eggplant.

My favorite pizza toppings are eggplant and sun dried tomatoes.

My favorite band is U2.

My favorite season is Fall.

and to close off this installment

My favorite time of day is sunset/twilight.

OK-I am embarrassed to say I don't think I have ever tried eggplant-at least not that I can remember. Since I am about trying new foods-how do you like it cooked? I just might try it! I don't know if you have tried Swiss chocolate and I don"t know how it compares to British, but it is some of the tastiest stuff I have ever had! Mmmmmm.

Aussie and NZ chocolate is fabulous too.

In Australia I learned that just plain heavy cream (unwhipped) is bliss for pie. Or for the rhubarb cobbler I made a few weeks ago.

Plantboy loves kiwi too (when we were engaged I edited a 10 page paper on kiwi propogation) and we've discovered that the only kind really worth eating are Zespri brand ones. You can get fabulous ones at Costco (4 lbs at a time!) and Albertsons occassionally carries them too. The best.

PS Midnight Oil ties with U2 for me.

Midnight Oil rocks!

I like eggplant, but it's too much trouble to prepare well to be my favourite. My favourite vegetable is potato! :)

Very fun blog!
I was at the store Thursday night, shopping for cheese. I had a jewelry party and served crackers and cheese. I was so upset I forgot my phone because I was going to call you to get your advice. I ended up buying Brie and Havarti. I am not sure on the spelling of the cheeses but they were both very good!

Pie is my favorite dessert as well. And though I love homemade pies, if you haven't tried Marie Calendar's chocolate silk pie, you haven't lived. It's so yummy! I cooked eggplant once. Yep, I don't think I know how to cook it properly because I didn't like it very much. Fun post!

Natalie--I've never made anything with eggplant in it myself but I really like eggplant parmesan. Try allrecipes.com for recipes.

And yes Swiss chocolate is very good. In fact all chocolate except American chocolate is probably very good--but we have better candy.

STM--because it is you I'm considering trying some unwhipped heavy cream.

And I hadn't even considered that there are different types of Kiwi fruit. I must investigate this further.

Oh, and Midnight Oil! Love them too.

Chosha--the difficulty of cooking eggplant is the reason I rarely have it. I love the potato as well--very versatile veg.

Denise--Brie and Havarti are excellent choices

Jen--mmmm, chocolate silk pie.
