Biggest Loser Blues

You know that place...where you've been working out for 3 weeks and losing weight (not just a pound, or a couple pounds, or even a few pounds, but several pounds) and then you go to put on a pair of jeans that you regularly wear and they are tight--almost uncomfortably tight? Yeah, I'm there.

I'm counting on this being a result of the millions of lunges and squats that I've been doing and that any day now I'll lose the fat that is now covering my growing muscles. In the meantime, it has become very difficult to continue to do good when the results are so mean.

I pretty much squatted myself for 12 weeks to the buns of steel queen. And that same mean phenomenon happened to me. AND I've gained weight. Don't even try to call it muscle. Because there's no way that little itty bit of muscle could weigh that much. Wanna go out for ice cream?

Oh dang. I hate that. Don't worry though. It looks better when you do have muscle under the little layer of fat cause it shapes your body a certain way... ya know? Do I only make sense to myself? Maybe I just tell myself that to make myself feel better..

Oh hang in there...it does seem a bit cruel, but the results you want will come!

Hang in there! I have been there and then one day....it fits!!! You are doing awesome.

You're doing cardio, right? Because strength training and spot reduction doesn't lose fat without it (trainer tip from Bob on the show!)

I totally get how it's disheartening to not see a regular noticeable result, but everything you're doing is making you fitter and stronger and those benefits are just as valuable (point being it's never a waste of time). The rest will come.

I just have to say that there is no sympathy coming from here. I've seen your legs. They are toothpicks. That is all.

Rachel--I know exactly what you are talking about.

Chosha--I'm doing cardio and I know that it is all working to my good. Bob and I get on great!

Jen--I really have put on some weight over the winter that I need to loose.
